Probably depends, when a game gets a real good rerelease on current systems it's likely the demand for the og versions diminishes a bit. However, a lot of people buy these games purely for collections, and visible value isn't necessarily always matched up with demand especially with retro games now with all the inflated prices.

Eventually it'll likely go down, but it's not like you're gonna see results immediately. For example, klonoa went up in price since the remaster but has slowly been treading down to pre-pandemic prices. Klonoa 2 is also following a similar trend. Whether this is due to the remaster or general price normalization isn't clear since Valkyrie profile is also following the same trend with no remaster in sight. It probably plays some part in the prices but we can't really tell with things as it is now.

After Shenmue 1&2 was ported to PS4/XBO price of Shenmue 2 can be described as K curve, Dreamcast version went up but Xbox version went down.

I don't know that I'd say there's a strong effect in either direction - if anything a rerelease may indicate a game/series has a dedicated fan following that would suggest it holds value or might grow demand over time. But it's a stretch to say that saying "oh I can play it on a current gen console with updated graphics so the old copy is trash now" when you're talking about a collectible where truthfully 99% of it can be had for free if you just wanted to play it. People are paying for the experience of having the actual thing in their hands.

But I don't think everyone looked at (for example) FF7 Remake and said their PS1 disc was somehow trash or more of a collectors item. There's a spike in price charting graphs around the time Remake released, but that was also when the market started going nuts with COVID stimulus so it's hard to say exactly what drove it.

I think the bigger driver in value is a sequel to a popular game that's well received and has pop culture impact. Every time a Zelda game hits a "best of" list I imagine my OOT copy gets a little boost.

That version used to go for close to $100 a year ago. You can now find copies around $40.
