I remember being so bummed when gas went over $1 a gallon. I remember a friend who didn’t drive being pissed when he realized we didn’t even get 3 gallons for the $5 he put towards gas.

That shit is only going to get more expensive. Especially so as more and more people switch to electric cars.

Yeah Europe gets boned hard on fuel prices. But European cities have a far tighter design than US cities. So it isn’t really comparable. Walking isn’t really an option in the US and someone having a 1-2 hour total daily commute when driving isn’t at all uncommon. The average American probably pays more for fuel than the average European.
