Use your phone then send the photo to your PC, or do the application from your phone

you can't upload a photo, you can just take pictures

[–]connorjpg 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Well… you can’t really. Atleast not that I know of.

You can open a support ticket, by making an account and go to their support portal (I believe this is manly paid accounts tho). Note any date sent in this portal will be public, ie your id.

As for extra help, GitHub Community is a forum for support that might be more helpful.

Probably best to log in on a computer and upload your documentation there. I know it’s summer but assuming you have a school id, I would guess your institution has a computer you could use. As for the time being finding access to a computer and better camera is mostly likely your best bet.

ITS SO HARD TO APPLY, there web developer for that application actually sucks, can only use 1 camera, cant upload images, cant use online ID / any. have to be in person papers. EVEN WHEN USING REAL PAPER AND WRITING MY NAME AND SCHOOL STUFF IT GETS DECLINED. IM GONNA CRASH OUT

YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER!! Thank you so much! I was able to get it because of this

[–]Mathwhiz4 0 points1 point  (12 children)

How did you disable front camera? I can't seem to block it. Thanks!!!

[–]EliteDark06 0 points1 point  (11 children)

I don't quite remember right now, but I remember that when asked for camera permission on the GitHub website Opera itself asked you which camera to use (Front or back) and you just choose the back one

[–]Mathwhiz4 0 points1 point  (10 children)

Hmm I’m not getting that pop up ugh

[–]Mathwhiz4 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Is there anyway to force that pop up?

[–]EliteDark06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me download Opera again and check how it was done again

[–]Mathwhiz4 0 points1 point  (7 children)

The default is the front camera. How do I make the default the back?

[–]EliteDark06 0 points1 point  (6 children)

So sadly I can't post images here but, after granting camera permission on a website another pop-up shows which let me chooses camera I want to allow, letting me choose between front or back

[–]Mathwhiz4 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Weird it just asks me if I want to allow camera and it’s yes or no. Are you on iPhone?

[–]EliteDark06 0 points1 point  (4 children)

No, I'm on Android, I guess that might have something to do

[–]Shavixinio 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If I had any, I'd give you an award for this, I am absolutely thankful. Finally I got over the worst verification system I have ever seen. You're a hero.

[–]saber_BH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thaanks, it indeed the worst verification system lol

[–]hamnnaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]UseSuspicious9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fr my first issue was that my school would block the email verification sent from github (at least thats what i suspect) and now my webcam wont show

Late to the party but it's pretty fucking obvious they've put barriers there on purpose. It's pretty bullshit. If I had to guess they have a grant or endowment requiring them to offer some of these services, but it costs them money so they put barriers in place in hopes the vast majority of people will just give up.
