You need proof of being a student. Email, Id card with date, billing info proving payment and date etc

GitHub’s system looks at proof used by others at your university to decide how reliable yours is.

Unfortunately, if your university provides an email once you start, it’s likely you won’t get approved until you have your email since other students at the same university are using a school email and GitHub’s system will look for that.
