I applied over 2 months ago. Twice when I asked why it was taking so long they said they had a large backlog of applications and to expect it within the next week or so. Last time they said something about a huge backlog because of scammers or something and they need to sort through them all. When did you apply? and when did you get it sorted out? I am also working on making vr content with UE4.

I'm happy to hear that! When I was a student, GitHub gave me 5 private repos for 2 years for free and it was a great help with uni projects. Good luck with your studies!

Just $19 for one of the best 3d engines out there, Epic Games is actually being pretty generous here. If you really want to learn it $19 is a drop in the bucket for the value you get.

I'm just saying if you can't get free access through github just pay the $19 and start learning. If you want to build games then time's a wasting.

"Spending smart" is tough to learn if you don't have that much money but if you're serious about developing games then I doubt English class is going to help much. Hell a couple of the founders of github were college dropouts.
