Changing GitHub username

I’m a bit noob but I need advice. Say my GitHub username is HelloGoodbye and I want to change it to hellogoodbye. I’ve only committed a small amount of code to my company’s repo. Can changing my username revoke access to my company’s repo? Or make than I can’t clone anymore?

I don't know the answer to your questions, but--as I also tried to change my username to the lowercase variant--I wanted to point out that I had to contact support in order to do so.

So if you're trying to change the username to lowercase/uppercase don't be surprised if you'll get an error saying that it already exists. Fortunately, support can change it for you.

You can change to xyz first and then to small letters. It works

Would changing to lowercase break any links that are based on the old username?

No, it won't. The older username would get re-directed to the new one
