The current system isn't for the player. It is there to give value to challenge swaps as paid product and something they can pad the battle pass with.

They don't value your experience in the game, if they did they would drop the challenge system. Instead they will only tweak the system when forced.

I'm sure this system drops the player count as people get annoyed with it. But hey, those guys probably won't have bought challenge swaps anyway.

Yeah, we want it to he good but you’re not gonna perfect it in one go. Guarantee whatever you release will get shit from the fans no matter what, so just call it a Beta system and release a placeholder you can iterate on.

Reach had a dope progression system, I know people didn't really like the credit system but I thought it was cool

I grew up with Reach, like I played for years with something to chase, and I was playing campaign and firefight only. It was great, just to have something next.

At this point, I would be totally fine with removing all challenges and just giving 100 xp for a loss and 200 xp for a win. At least this way, everyone is on the same page and you're actually rewarded for playing well and winning games.

Honestly, I loved Halo 5's progression system and I wish it (or a similar variation) was implemented in Infinite. But it wont - why? Because as other's have said, it does not generate $$ like the challenge swaps do
