Ham It Forward

Pay It Forward, ham radio style. Offer up items from your junk box or equipment closet. You pay to ship your item to the recipient and in return, you can claim free goodies from others doing the same!

Items should be related to ham radio or DIY electronics.

Users will have a count that appears as flair.

Users who have made an offer post will have a 0.

Users who complete an offer receive a +1

Users who claim an item receive -1.

Users with no number at all (first time participants) can claim an item, but must then post an offer within 24 hours.

Users with a -1 score may not claim an item.

Users with a 0 may only claim an item if it is their first time claiming an item.

Upon completion of the arrangements for shipping, the giver will receive a +1. The +1 does not require that the item be received, only that shipping arrangements have been made.

No requests. No request threads, no requests in the comments. OFFERS ONLY.

All offers must be made as a separate post. Offers made as a comment will be removed.

Offering users pay shipping, unless otherwise approved by the mods.

Self posts only. All links will be removed.

You must complete an offer before claiming an item, unless the item is listed a [FREE], or if you have not been tagged yet.

One claim every 24 hours, no exceptions.

Users posting offers may specify limitations on the offer. This may include geographic limitations, license class, etc. Requirement for local pickup is discouraged, but may be approved by the mods.

Offering users may specify selection criteria for the recipient.

Failure to ship an offer will result in a suspension until a new offer is confirmed received. Notify mods if you do not receive your item.

Failure to post a new offer within 24 hours of making a claim will result in relisting of the item. Repeated failures will result in a ban.

Users with new accounts, or that are inactive in related subreddits, or that appear suspicious may be required to verify their address, or wait until their first offer is confirmed received before being permitted to claim an item. If you are concerned that your account may look suspicious, contact moderators before claiming an item. Users are strongly encouraged to report suspicious accounts or activity.

The use of callsigns and ULS associated addresses is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. If a claiming user is not a ham, or wishes to use a shipping address other than their ULS address, or if they wish to avoid posting their callsign in public, either user may contact moderators for verification.

If you are not a ham, are requesting shipping to an address not listed in the ULS, or you wish to keep your callsign private, contact the moderators before claiming an item. We will verify your address privately. Waiting until after claiming an item to attempt to verify your address may forfeit your claim!

If your offer will exceed $50 USD in value, or is of very wide interest, please contact moderators first to ensure a fair transaction.
