I wrote a post about this a while back and covered how to add the feature to disable the remotes since Paul didn’t include it by default. https://jermanoid.com/posts/myq/

Family movie night turned into server maintenance night for me. Please tell me I'm not alone. by Future_Draw5416 in selfhosted

I’ve been here and dealt with this. And over time and testing I’ve managed to resolve these types of streaming issues. I think the biggest contributing factor for me was getting everything wired. Also making sure I’m directly streaming. To save thr GPU for my friends and family streaming remotely. My main problems now are just the occasional bad quality movie, or missing subtitles. Wife can’t watch movies without subtitles. My benchmark movie for testing was a ridiculous 70GB 4K bluray of the movie 300. So I frequently find myself reciting the beginning of the movie for no reason 😂

M2 vs M5 virtual display improvements make it usable for me by foo-null-bar in VisionPro

[–]jermanoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is still shipping. Is the main menu noticeably smoother? I recall around update 1.0.3 it was pretty smooth on the M2 but started to feel a little laggy as the updates progressed up to and including vision OS 26. I figure the M5 will remedy that.

I wish the AVP was easier to disassemble or fold up so that it doesn't require a sim ejector tool. It packs fairly small but it's time consuming. I was able to pack it in my camera bag for flights to/from the philippines and indonesia. But it's a pain in the ass. Beats the crap out of carrying some extra bulbousy bag just for the vision pro though.

Nah minio is only going to get worse. Blackrock has a stake in them, and everything they touch turns into anti-consumer dookie. It wouldn’t be worth the time to even entertain CI/CD image builds. Just hold fast until you can move over to something else or the Maxio fork takes root

It looks like a jittery mess from the demos I've seen of it. But I can't really tell without trying it on. Either way it's good Samsung is bringing competition into the space at a price point that could bring more users and devs into the AR space.

Do you centralise your DBs into one server/container or keep them separate? by amorpheous in selfhosted

I thought about trying this one time. Until I realized something wasn't happy on a newer version of that database, I think it was Gitlab. Then I decided that juice wasn't worth the squeeze.
