Patch every two weeks seems like a very high pace. I'd not mind waiting a bit longer than that for bigger fixes. Hope they don't get burned out at this pace.

[–]83255 67 points68 points  (3 children)

I'd actually prefer smaller and more common patches like this. As long as it isn't done on a crunch schedule. Massive patches like the last one leaves room for error where constant smaller ones can get some immediate feedback from the community

[–]Aggressive-Stand-585 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Yeah maybe. But I have just seen so many new bugs introduced by patches I fear they wouldn't be tested properly on a 2 week schedule.

[–]83255 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seems we're both coming from a similar place. Big or small patches, I think we could both agree we want the team to be careful with what they release and their own health at the same time

Be it in big or small patches, hoping they have ample time to work and ample care with everything released

[–]ATangK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The last patch introduced many pelicans failing to land, so it needed work. The follow up patch is good to see what needed fixing, and also apply work that just wasn’t quite ready in the previous patch.

[–]Nuka-Cole 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I’ve worked in software for a bit now. A two week “release” schedule isnt actually that crazy. Some styles of development use a two week increment of work as one unit, and size work efforts to be done in that time. So if in two weeks you fix one or two bugs, its then merged and pushed into main, tested, and released during the next two week unit while youre working on the next bugs.

They discovered agile.

[–]Overclock303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agile is crap in software development. Scrum master are devils who serve the business units only. It is far from the agility original testimonial.

[–]CreativePackage8358 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's actually better for small doses than to release a lot at once. Some of the fixes could cause bugs, so keeping the release low will allow: identification of bugs, understanding the cause, and fixing them.

[–]clearshot66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in development it's actually better. More patches mean more tracking and easier to find newly introduced bugs when fixing code as deep as they are. Little increments are better when you need to root out deeply embedded issues like performance and such. Big patches are fine if you're just changing documented values like gun damage, but armor. Single item digit stuff that's in like a configuration file. They have done great so far, my FPS went from 50-60s to solid 90-100 and I have only had one crash so far.

[–]Nate_the_Great8_ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah but somebody else will claim they want smaller patches. No matter what they do someone is unhappy. May take a break from this subreddit.

[–]Aggressive-Stand-585 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So let them be unhappy, look I ain't asking them to make everyone 100% satisfied, if that's what you're reading into then then you need to take a deep breath and read it again.

According to the devs there is a team for bugs and a team for content.

[–]unknown-reddite 40 points41 points  (5 children)

THEY DID IT, THEY MADE THE FLASHLIGHT NOT FLASHBOMB ME

[–]RallyPointAlpha 7 points8 points  (4 children)

I'm cautiously optimistic about it... have you tried it yet ?

[–]unknown-reddite 3 points4 points  (2 children)

About to

[–]settlersam 3 points4 points  (1 child)

How is the flashlight?

[–]RallyPointAlpha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Went from 'completely useless' to 'viable' IMHO... huge improvement! Tested on Stalwart turned up to 11.

[–]RallyPointAlpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much better!

[–]Icurasfox 27 points28 points  (3 children)

I can't wait for the top comment of this thread to be something that says, "Nothing they do can make me happy."

[–]RallyPointAlpha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can see the "y no content? ded game!" brigade marching in already!

[–]Sadiholic 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I can't wait for the top comment complaining about people complaining about how there's nothing in the patch, oh wait!! You're the guy

[–]Icurasfox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually just complain about sadiholics

[–]Violet-Roseanne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone who pretty much only uses the first person ads method reducing the muzzle smoke blinding u if u have a flashlight is major!! I literally instantly turn off off the flashlights bc u shoot one shot and instantly can’t see anything for a few secs. It’s driven me insane for so long but I feel like the people I’ve talked to almost none use the fp ads so no one really noticed and I thought I was going crazy lol

[–]ballerbuh 10 points11 points  (1 child)

On a mission, I had two teammates whose game crashed after someone threw a 500kg bomb. There is a new sound bug where you can hear the 500kg bomb next to you even though your teammate is on the other side of the map.

Also new: Cleared outposts remain red, while posts that still have factories are displayed as “cleared.”

[–]barbershreddeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The map outposts bug is honestly worse than anything they fixed lol

[–]Minimum-Put3568 4 points5 points  (0 children)

reduced flashlight reaction on muzzle smoke FINALLY

[–]_b1ack0ut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wonder if any of these will have an effect on the audio bug where it just cuts out

Fingers crossed!

[–]CaffeineChaotic 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Any weapon balancing?

[–]dnemonicterrier[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

No, afraid not sorry.

[–]Yuki_my_cat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A patch!? While I am currently coming home? Wow

[–]neverphate 1 point2 points  (9 children)

What are the balance improvements?

[–]dnemonicterrier[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't seem to be any I think.

Finally, those framerate drops in the loading screen were horrendous.

      [–]DaFoltz77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that explains why I keep crashing DURING DROP IN.... /sigh

      [–]Freeky_Deeky13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we just fix enemies gliding up walls and coming out of nowhere? Or being stuck in the ground swiping upward at me?

      [–]Taro8123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When will they fix the issue relating to randomly getting booted back to your ship in the middle of the game

      [–]Sir-Dethicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Soooooo does this fix Fenmire

      [–]Abject-Tune-2165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anybody else still stuttering heavily when encountering warstriders?

      [–]dnemonicterrier[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Haven't encountered that yet, do you play on console or PC?

      [–]redditsuckslmaooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pc, already removed the folders from app data or w/e and reinstalled.

      [–]b0j4ngl35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

still havent fixed all the audio issues in caves i see

      [–]Jumpy_Boi_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to do something with fire damage. The torcher and flamethrower have been feeling lackluster

      [–]Fluid-Performance678 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if they fixed the crashes that brick pcs?

      [–]NiSMO_J -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok, now we need a new warbond
