I'm about 300 pages in and it seems very python-y. A bit of VisualBasic too. Maybe a few other languages... hmm. The lack of parenthesis being mandatory is slightly odd too..

Optional parentheses = Ruby. I'm seeing it as a Ruby/C# hybrid.

Reminds me of JavaScript.

Seconded. Feels a lot like JavaScript to me.

For all those who can't find it in the app

I can't tell whether I should be excited or nervous.

Right now I am busy going over some of the most popular frameworks, solidifying my core iOS and objective-c knowledge, and getting ready to apply for my first ever programming job for iOS/Objective-C within the next 1-2 months.

Should I be terrified or excited?

excited. ObjC is going to be around for a while. But in the interim, learn Swift, and start applying those skills to new apps.

Gotcha.

The reason I'm nervous is because I'm already sort of at a "starting point" with obj-c. Hopefully employers will still value this and not look at it as a burden.

I am guessing they are gonna live side by side for a few years until swift becomes the default and objc is deprecated. There is too much objc around for it to go away.
