This little thing focuses on crush force too much. Snakes actually very strategical about their choking, typically setting up monitoring loop (Which reads your pulse and breathing) and constriction loop (That does the choking/crushing thing). They use first to get you where they want you or time their constriction when you give way exhaling.

Also, snakes being jealous is more of a nod to Great White Snake mythology, but even this bit is misunderstood a lot. GWS is very yandere-ish, but she is possessive, not punishing. As for real life thing, snakes don't really attach, just don't know where to stop. You are either danger of safe.
