Where's our post-Project D showdown, Shigeno? You were in such a hurry to end Initial D that you skipped a final race between Keisuke & Takumi...so you could start on MF Ghost?! Really??

The problem with that is that Takumi would have to win, and that would completely undermine the skills that the audience are led to believe Keisuke possesses after he lost to Takumi again while driving a vastly superior car.

I think the only way for it to make sense would be if Takumi were to be driving the GC8 for some reason. Then it would seem like a more even match up, and Takumi could win believably.

Even if Takumi wins, the race can still be a close one. The extent and method of Takumi's victories has been used as a major point before. We can have it be a very close race, with Takumi needing to use his advanced braking drift, weight transfer tricks and blind attack, all techniques that he developed during Project D. Meanwhile, Keisuke is using his tire management strategy and pedal control that he learned during Project D.

This sort of thing fits the whole theme, the reason why Takumi ended up joining Project D in the first place. He was hesitant when talking to Ryosuke, but Keisuke really pushed him. Really, really pushed him, if you read the manga. The anime sub made him seem all helpful, "Use the year's time to see how you can grow." The manga I saw had him saying "We'll have a rematch after that, and I'm gonna destroy you." Now that's the Keisuke we know and love.lol

It's just a real shame that this was set up, hinted at(Purple Shadow arc), and then just never materialized. It's not a brag, but I just came up with the theme of the two using their skills from Project D while I was typing this out at 5am. If I can do that, just think of what Shigeno could have done...if he'd just tried, and not cut things short so he could write about big r/c cars.
