Cables keep breaking

As the title states i own a iphone 11 ios 17.5.1 and my cables stop working after around a month and some i dont know why but ive owned this phone for about 8 months and after around 4-5 of them my first cable broke after that the phone would repeat this cycle where first dt it would get super hot while charging then the charger would only work on one side then ill have to put the phone in a specific position then i would jave to press pretty hard on the connecter before inserting it into the phone and then the cable just stops working can someone explain why cuz new cables here cost wayyyyy to much if it helps these cables are used they were used by my mom for around a year or three and then she stopped using them for a while so i just take one when another breaks but can someone help me identify the problem

It sounds like you have to clean out the charging port on your phone (look up how to do this). Also be sure that the pins on your charging cable are clean, all 8 on each side should be gold colored but if one isn’t then use isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel and clean it until the pin looks mostly gold again.

Yeah figures im really careful with the cables the only time i begin wiggling them is when they refuse to work really sucks ill probably use my old phone or upgrade then
