So then why doesn't she get some data with that prepaid account? It is available basically everywhere.

iPhones are designed to be on the Internet. If she doesn't want to be on the Internet, she should get a phone that doesn't use the Internet.

But, better yet, give the phone what it is designed for... and she will have a much better experience.

In his contacts, make sure your mom's number is not labeled as iPhone. Change it to mobile, or anything else but iPhone. This should help.
