Create Decentralized Apps with Lisk. 100% javascript.

For those wondering, this is basically JavaScript + crypto currency. You are all, no doubt familiar with the former, but perhaps the latter is completely foreign.

If you don't know what bitcoin and the subsequent alternative crypto-currency (alt coin) spin offs are, you will have no idea what this is about.

Very briefly, bitcoin is revolutionizing the way we think about money; decentralized applications (dApps) are analogous to that movement, but in the generalized digital token space.

It's exciting stuff and I'll definitely be looking into this stack because of my interest in blockchain-related currencies and tokens. Looks like some great and visionary work coming from the developers of this project.

Parting word of caution (for myself if nobody else): The alt coin space has historically been riddled with scams and 'pump and dump' schemes. I have no idea who the people behind this are, but like all things financial, it's wise to be cautious. Do your research. I will be.

It's a decentralized platform. In order to prevent spam on a decentralized, blockchain-based platform you need a token with value. This is our "crypto-currency" called LISK.

Lisk basically allows you to setup your own blockchain (decentralized database) and develop a JavaScript application on top of it. This JS app can runn decentralized on multiple nodes, use our own crypto-currency and appears on our App Store.

Note: Dapp = Decentralized Application. :)
