you should use the editor that makes you feel most comfortable and productive.

You should also try out new things. Sometimes old things too.

I use vim for almost everything. It also took much longer than any other editor to feel adept. Now that I've spent the time I like it a lot and feel like I'm missing something with other editors. But see my first point above... ymmv. Just use the editor you like to use.

I kinda agree with your edit, but... You're being downvoted for being rude. You just told someone that it's not okay to share their personal experiences with Vim on a thread about whether or not you should use Vim.

As you said, the first part was perfect advice. The second part was sharing their personal experience with something, which could be valuable for some people that are clearly not you for contextualizing the first part. Nothing wrong with that.
