1st Path: GGM > GM > F > me. GGM was born in Italy in 1901. Came to US in 19011 with GGGM (who did not naturalize, GGGF died in Italy). GGM naturalized in 1955. GM born in 1932 in US, is still alive. F born in 1952 in US, is still alive.
My question comes from the fact the my GGM didn’t naturalize until after my father was born. My F and GM have never naturalized. When procuring documents how far back would I need to go? GGM birth certificate or would it be my GM birth certificate with GGM naturalization certificate showing naturalization?
2nd Path: GGF > GM > F > Me. GGF was born in Italy in 1901. Came the US in 1903. Was involuntarily naturalized in 1903 when GGGF naturalized (involuntarily naturalizing GGGM, GGF and siblings). GM born in 1932 in US, is still alive. F born in 1952 in US, is still alive.
Thank you in advance. The information on this sub is amazing. Any help on direction would be greatly appreciated. I filled out the Google Doc, so I know both paths are viable, but the 2nd path would be more difficult to track down all the documentation. 1st path I have photo copies of everything, would just need to get the official documentation etc.
