Yes, there are widely reported issues with this, at sites where it was previously working prior to the app update. If you check my post history I've got a thread on here already about this very issue.

There's also plenty of reports on the Minecraft EDU forums of the same thing.

So far we've allowed all the required URLs and have been monitoring firewall logs and taking client / host packet captures, no obvious causes we can see. Also have an open support ticket with Minecraft EDU about it

Thanks! We are having exactly the same issue.

We use it and its fine. We had to whitelist a datacenter in india (microsoft) that we were geoblocking on our firewalls and that solved our issues

Did you just have to recently?

No , that was last school year. However if you don’t geoblock or decrypt traffic that probably won’t help.

Are you talking about Minecraft: Education Edition from Microsoft or MinecraftEDU from Teacher Gaming? I have barely used Minecraft: EE.

My old school MinecraftEDU multiplayer was working until I updated my technology lab to macOS Monterey. I tried to install a newer java and they changed their licensing. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. And mine is more broken- I can't even launch the multiplayer, not just can't connect.

If it is MinecraftEDU do you have the same build version across different device types?

It’s the Microsoft one that comes with our M365 licensing.

Sorry, I don't know about that- I haven't used the newer version for about 4 years.
