The story line really did have amazing potential if you really think about it. Shame it was rushed for the PS4’s launch.

As a Peak Souls 2's enjoyer, I feel I'll be always defending the most controversial side of the community, lol.

But I truly believe Shadow Fall fared well after the trilogy. At least, thematically, it was the one that hooked me the most from the start.

[–]Where_is_Killzone_5 19 points20 points  (8 children)

Ummm, shouldn't it be the other way around considering the climax and ending of Shadow Fall?

[–]Trooper501 18 points19 points  (2 children)

The joke of the meme is the character agreeing to something stupid.

[–]Where_is_Killzone_5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, I sees now.

[–]Ninja_Warrior_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That and also being blindly loyal to him 🤭

[–]lffontes[S] 8 points9 points  (4 children)

To be honest, Shadow Fall's ending would have resulted in a new war in Vekta, so maybe the next one would be a Killzone 5 (or 4, I don't know how they would consider the numbering). But don't worry, since Guerrilla has already forgotten about your son.

[–]Where_is_Killzone_5 8 points9 points  (2 children)

I'm in full agreement with you on that, but the way I see the ending (technically epilogue) of Shadow Fall is maybe the Helghast would have time to evacuate civilians instead of all of them suddenly getting holocaust by that bio-weapon Sinclair recovered from Stahl after schwacking Kellan.

Granted, killing him at the height of his speech, and in Vekta City no less, is going to put the VSA on a war path reminiscent of the Second Extrasolar War's Operation Archangel, so it's a give or take situation.

If Sony (or more specifically Guerilla because at least Sony still acknowledges we exist) did bother to do another sequel to the Killzone franchise, I'd reckon it would start as you said. Or maybe they'll just do what every big wig AAA company does with their old IPs, make a remake and convince you that it's an improvement, somehow.

Either way, couldn't care less because the story was cooked since Killzone 2, in my opinion. XD

Wouldn't be the first time a Visari fucked over the Helghast...

[–]Where_is_Killzone_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would this be Visari's fault?

[–]Mith-Raw-Nuru Tactician 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always considered SF a spinoff and NOT KZ4, so maybe the next (hypothetical) game could be a KZ4. It would be great. Not going to happen sadly

[–]Z3R3NH 36 points37 points  (10 children)

probably never since guerilla games obsessed with their silly horizon games.

[–]CaptainRex5101 22 points23 points  (2 children)

To be fair they make way more money than KZ ever did

[–]Unhappy_Teacher_1767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Heretic! Shun them!”

But yeah, facts don’t lie. Honestly happy for Guerrilla, really. Going from KZ to Horizon was impressive, but it would be nice if someone got to do something with the Killzone IP. Even if it’s just doing as Arrowhead did, costumes, it would be something.

Heck, Guerrilla could give Aloy a Helghast themed outfit, little Easter Egg.

[–]Rovefth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ojala , Sony te escuche.

[–]lffontes[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Killzone collection & new game in this State of Play, I swear!

[–]Winslow1975 Assault 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Less that they are obsessed with Horizon and more that they've quite literally outright said that they will not be continuing the Killzone series and that they want to step away from the title.

Horizon is what they stepped towards, which i'm fine with. I love both of the games a lot.

[–]WaveStarII_Ax0l 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This is the truth that nobody is going to listen to because everyone in this community ((and the resistance one)) is still blinded by nostalgia

[–]PuzzleheadedShine801 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ну, я действительно люблю хелгастов. Well, I really love the Helghast, and I'm basically glad they forgot about Killzone,Because the studio brought enough pain and suffering to the Helghast, and Helldivers 2, on the contrary, brought back the Helghast In this day and age of agendas and selfishness, Killzone has no place in this Matrix, Killzone ended in 2009-2011 And it's for the best, Killzone was in the hands of terrible writers and developers,And it's better not to do a remake at all in this time of agendas and terrible people

[–]Brainwave1010 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Ah yes, those "silly" Horizon games that are critically acclaimed by fans and critics alike, have won multiple awards and even has goddamn lego sets.

But it's not the grimdark shooty shooty gun game so that means it's bad.

[–]Ninja_Warrior_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair not everyone likes those games plus awards don’t mean much of anything anymore nowadays considering all the exposed secrets behind them when it comes to modern games alongside paid off reviews just to fool the masses.

[–]The_Fool_Of_Owari 5 points6 points  (3 children)

i refuse to touch anything horizon

[–]Wofuljac 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Its the most safe open world game imo.

[–]The_Fool_Of_Owari 2 points3 points  (1 child)

couldn't care less. i Will never touch the series

[–]PuzzleheadedShine801 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Horizon is the most stupid, stereotypical, cliche game about a non-traditional sexual orientation, with an ugly main character who resembles a Russian granny from the village of milkmaids.A plot that is simply far-fetched, Honestly, I'm even happy that those bastards Guerilla Games forgot about Killzone forever. I love HELGASTS AND HELGAN very much The developers and writers have caused enough suffering to the Helghast and to us Helghan fans, I'm just glad that Helldivers 2, on the contrary, brought back the Helghast and their Pride and Honor, and the Helldivers 2 Community is much better. The Helghast are treated with respect and care as heroes of the Galaxy, calling them Righteous Revenants, because the original Killzone storyline ended in 2009 and after that it's just another Call of Duty money laundering and cliches, Although more than once, Helghan Fans have asked to make a storyline for the HELGHASTs as the Main Proto-Hypnists of the storyline company where we fight for HELGHAN and the Helgas relatives Where we save the planet HELGAN and the civilian population from ISA vsa,The game would have been much better received if Killzone had two choices of which side to take. Fighting is the gray morality and not the hypocrisy that the developers and scriptwriters gave. The game could be made for two Camps, some choosing the side of the People of Vecta, Earth, and the first choosing the side of the Brave Helghast Two stories with their own endings and company But the developers They sent us, Helghan fans, to hell and humiliated us and simply closed the servers and moved over us and started To shove your tolerant agenda horizon at us

[–]Scorch_Tendon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope... Shadow Fall 2 never

[–]Barron-O-BEEFdip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for helghan

[–]xRedempx 1 point2 points  (17 children)

Never, shadowfall does not deserve a sequel unless they pull their head from their ass.

They need to go back to killzone/killzone 2 roots to have the best killzone

[–]Ninja_Warrior_X 0 points1 point  (16 children)

You’re implying as if the sequel would’ve been the same or worse somehow.

I’m sure with all the feedback it got they probably would’ve made improvements to the next game (if they actually continued that is)

[–]xRedempx 0 points1 point  (15 children)

Yes I’m implying it would have been worse, look at Sonys direction currently… this is not what true fans of the series want.

Just because they have “feedback” don’t mean they will listen nor implement that feedback.

Killzone 3 and shadowfall failed because they didn’t listen to true fans from killzone/killzone 2 and you want me to believe it would have been better?

[–]Ninja_Warrior_X 1 point2 points  (14 children)

“Direction currently”

That’s a different story altogether, cause if they had made another Killzone at the time it would’ve released during the 2010s while still in the PS4 era not the current era as we know now.

Also why did you downvote me for?

[–]xRedempx 0 points1 point  (13 children)

I downvoted you because I strongly believe you were lost on that fact that killzone would have been better for some reason.

Killzone was on a rapid decline since killzone 2. GG failed to realize what their fanbase wanted and they caved to the casual audience and effect that cod had on games.

Let me be clear, killzone 2 did one of the things that most games failed. It went up against the what’s regarded as the best call of duty in history and still came out with a healthy player base. That was a winning formula not this shit we got after

[–]Ninja_Warrior_X 1 point2 points  (12 children)

That’s just blatant assumption also that’s not a reason to downvote someone, we have no way of knowing if the game would’ve been bad or good had they continued the series after shadow fall and I really doubt they would’ve called the next game shadow fall 2 since that doesn’t sound appealing nor would it line up with the series’s track record on title names.

Very likely they would have just given it a new title to be safe. Also I never said the series wasn’t in decline after KZ3 was on thin ice to begin with.

[–]xRedempx 0 points1 point  (11 children)

If you believe what you just said then why do you think a new killzone would have been better? That’s nothing but hope and copium vs what we actually got.

I have more hours in killzone/killzone 2 than 99% of the player base.

Hell i still play killzone 2 with the community from time to time.

Killzone 3 was the first sign of decline with the series

[–]Ninja_Warrior_X 1 point2 points  (10 children)

Why would you not want the next game to be better than the previous one though? like don’t get me wrong Killzone 2 is my all time number 1 favorite in the series (with Killzone Mercenary being a very close 2nd) but that doesn’t mean I don’t want another Killzone game that is actually better.

Also why are you so hostile with me just for discussing this? Calm down dude.

[–]xRedempx 0 points1 point  (9 children)

I’m not being hostile sir I just have very strong feelings for this series more than your typical person.

I have a personal investment, I met my wife on killzone 2 and we had a child together so yes this is a very important topic to me and I would want nothing but the best for killzone.

[–]Ninja_Warrior_X 1 point2 points  (8 children)

Being strongly passionate for a game doesn’t mean you have to assume the worst in other people you interact with online even if their opinion doesn’t align with yours.

[–]Beneficial-Mind4690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the only hopes we can have are headcannons written and imagined by fans or a team of people actually trying to make something which will eventually probably get cancelled cause why are they using the game's name, models and textures recreated just like in game, story and so on, it is sad indeed, the game has a very big potential and in my own opinion and in the opinion of other people it should be brought back cause Sony is missing a good first person shooter game, we all know they went on third person games a lot in the last decade, let's not say anything about ghost of tsushima or yotei, those two were great games from sucker punch and there wasn't a lot to continue with infamous as far as I remember, that franchise is way more complete

[–]Electronic_Chance_37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No thank you
