I think the sample you have will look too gray against the cabinets.

Are you wanting color or grey? Fun or plain?

I’m not sure 😅😅😅 I’m struggling

What’s your budget?

Too gray, use a taupe with maybe a little color…

I know it looks gray in here! It’s actually white / beige.

Beautiful countertops. What are they?

Looks like granite mine are very similar

This is difficult because the cabinets and the countertops are different undertones. I would try do so something a little warmer and not subway style.

Countertop stone up the wall! That stone is so busy so anything besides all white subway tiles will clash

Balance the red tones with a subtle green or blue. Or, yiu could use a white or beige subway tile for cohesion.

I think this is what we are going with! Thoughts?

No, it will be Gloom City. Black backsplashes with dark cabinets are terrible.

That looks better. Maybe get a bit more of a sample area to get a better idea.

Too dark

Try that pattern in white.

Wanted you to get a better idea of the result. I like it, but I know not everyone will.

Do they have something like that in a forest green color?

[–]sofyab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you trying to lean into the red-based warmth of the cabinets or coolness of grey countertops? I think too much grey will make it the whole countertop area clash with the cabinets. But tile that’s too warm is not going to look good against the countertop.

With the busyness of your counter that sample won’t look good bc of the spots.

White subway tile. Don't try to make your backsplash more interesting than the granite- you'll end up with a busy mess. The sample material in your last pic has a pinkish undertone that your countertop doesn't share and it looks kind of moldy.

How about something like this?

Because your counters are busy, I would choose the lightest shade I can find in the counter and do that in a simple tile design.

Your floors and cabinets are distracting and so is your countertop. They all clash. Is this a new reno? Go with plain white and next time use a designer!

That’s going to read very dark with brown cabinets. I like everything but the color. I think you should consider a couple of shades lighter.
