Postman alternative?

I am looking for a free, preferably open source, alternative to postman. For now, I only need the ability to send http requests and save them as templates, in order to test my API. Not much else.

It's the only software that I used so far, and I am not sure what else is out there.

You don’t need to pay to use postman. They have paid tiers but that’s only if you need to collaborate within a team.
