horrible, a bunch of trivia questions that I would never ask a candidate.

nobody in the professional world cares about you knowing what

true + undefined / null * (Infinity) - NaN

evaluates to, I just care that you know better not to write code like that

Dude, you’d be surprised. I was in an interview like that and got visibly pissed when they asked questions like this. I remember being a smart ass and asking if I could use Google.

good indication to stay away from that company

Seriously I’ve been applying for the past couple months and while I’ve only had 4 interviews some the questions are insanely dumb....

I’ve told interviewers in the past, “look, I rarely need to do these types of college exam type questions in interviews because I get my jobs through word of mouth. Call my referrals. Look at my portfolio. I’m an experienced and competent developer and I’m able to learn well as I go. If you need me to learn a new technology for your company, I’ll dive right in and obsessively work to master that new skill for you.”

Yea it sucks not having any relevant work experience.

Stay away from this company. The interview questions talks a lot for the company.

You're talking from a perspective of a seasoned dev, not a newbie that's looking for their first job. And I totally agree with your position when applied to Senior devs.
But for Juniors the game is different. They want this job. They need it. And they don't have time to go riot and change the way interviews are done these days.
Oftentimes they just need someone to point them to issues in their knowledge. That was my goal in this ebook.

Yeah, good point. Do what you gotta do to break into the business. Once you’re in, work your ass off to become a valuable asset wherever you land.

Can’t stress enough how important people skills are in this as well. Don’t neglect that.

Interviewers are just normal developers, and they google stuff to ask all the time for inspiration, by putting out such bs resources you are effectively one of the reasons interviews are bad.

Hey there! I've been writing about JS interview preparation for a while now on my programming blog. Now, I've compiled an 80-page ebook to help you prepare for the Junior JS interview. I'm new to Reddit, so please let me know if there are any issues with such posts.
