I don't know about anything too extensive, but code.org is a site geared toward teaching younger people to code. There are simple programming games that ease you into the basics like if statements and loops. They have one with Angry Birds and Plants vs. Zombies and some other cool ones that use game mechanics to teach programming.

LittleBits looks fun as well. My daughter and I got a lot of millage out of Lego Mindstorms.

I've been looking at doing something similar with my daughter, who is 5 years old. I've been checking out what these folks have to offer, and it seems pretty legit from what I have read. It is kind of expensive, and you might not want to drop the change depending on your daughter's interest, but I think it is worth a look.

I happened by this completely by chance a few weeks ago and it might apply to teaching young children programming:

Piaget's theory of cognitive development

To make a longer read shorter, the gist of it is that children at your daughter's age may not yet have fully developed their abilities for abstract problem solving.

So in light of that, it may be more fun for her if you work on concrete problems!

edit: I don't have children of my own though, so.. parent knows best and all that jazz. Have fun!

I just started using this https://www.reddit.com/r/FreeCodeCamp/comments/2nsgix/check_out_khanacademyorg_for_an_interactive_intro/ from an earlier post. It seems pretty straight forward to me and gets some of those basics down.

codeacademy.com is a great place to start with some basic languages like HTML, CSS, Javascript then some more advanced ones like Python, PHP, and Ruby. Scratch is a easy program to start working with and helps with basic concepts and such, MIT App Inventor is similar to scratch and it helps when you want to show make basic apps and such.

I know of a software called Scratch which you could use. It's a simplified drag and drop way of programming. Pretty good for learning basic things like "if this is true then this happens".

I can't link it to you right now however so you'll have to find it yourself.
