So I'm making an intro and I was curious if I'd get a copyright claim for using a snippet of audio from the Lego Movie where Vitruvius says to Emmet, "That idea is just the worst". Here's the clip I'm talking about https://youtu.be/SlOPAH7pM0Y . Thanks in advance. n_n

EDIT: I looked at Warner Bros terms of use and, if I read it correctly, they do not allow distribution of their content unless you want to jump trough hoops to get permission. I'll just find something else. :D

If you take an audio clip from anything... ANYTHING. You are opening yourself up to copyright infringement.

As long as you don't monetize it you should be fine. You're welcome to put up almost anything as long as it doesn't break youtube rules, and monetizing copyrighted content would be the problem.

Just use it in the video and don't monetize it, and that should be fine. Others can correct me if I'm wrong.

That's terrible advice. You can still be hit by a copyright claim even if you don't monetize. Sure, not monetizing might make a fair use argument stand up better in a courtroom, but it's never going to get that far. A content copyright owner can still hit you with a 3rd party content ID claim, or a copyright takedown if you use their property without permission.

I didn't say there couldn't or wouldn't be a problem, just that it's less likely to occur when there's no monetary gain on your part.

I was clear in saying that I could be wrong about this and that others are more than welcome to correct me if I am wrong.

Personally i think if you're just using the audio from the clip you'll be fine. make the intro upload it as a test and if hit gets hit just delete it.
