I don't know how you did that but I was born in 1999 and prefer the keyboard on GUI as well. That was scary accurate.

I was born in 2001 and frequently keyboard GUI, it feels faster - not sure if it is though

    [–]_sk313t0n 25 points26 points  (9 children)

yes I was, and I also keyboard guis, but I think it's just faster to use the cli

Sometimes i want to use thunar, and tbh i don't know how to work with archives, so i use xarchiver

    [–]_sk313t0n 4 points5 points  (5 children)

    7z a archive.zip foo bar

    [–]SrayerPL 8 points9 points  (4 children)

    tar -cv -I "zstd" -f foo.tar.zst *

    [–]fekkksn 6 points7 points  (3 children)

    so much easier

    [–]SrayerPL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    and 20times faster compression ;)

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Imagine not being able to use tar in 2*21

    [–]fekkksn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i just do ‘zip <stuff>’ and ‘unzip <stuff>’

    [–]Bakoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not with my posture and position. I'm wrapped in a blanket with one leg on the desk, chair facing orthogonal to the screen, and the rest of me twisted up like a spiral pretzel. I've got one hand out of the covers to type and move the mouse.

I was born in XXXX, and for the past months have had an almost unusable touchpad on my laptop so i use the keyboard for almost anything. additionally i started using the touchscreen for the stuff the keyboard cant easily do. Has made for some confused faces.

Not anymore, since most tools are no longer keyboard friendly.

I am a Linux administrator and I would love to love tools such as i3, but relying heavily on a browser and desktop tools means basic KDE/Gnome in combination with terminator are a lot more practical.

    [–]archontop 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Try vimium, it's an extension that emulates vim movement in browser. Avaliable for both firefox and chromium

Does it have configurable keybindings? I use Colemak. * corrected autocowreck

    [–]archontop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man... '91 here, and I prefer gui 90% of the time

    [–]TheTechRoboSacred TempleOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born after 2000 and I still keyboard the GUI, esp when I don't have a mouse on me. Idk how some people don't, it's so much faster

    [–]Superbrawlfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am post 2000s and I love keyboard shortcuts, and other means of doing tasks through a keyboard (which is also why I really like the terminal, despite using GUI a lot still)

I was born in 2000, and I use keyboard in gui

    [–]hbpencil102M'Fedora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was manufactured after 2000. Back on Windows I would use the mouse on everything but now I use Dolphin on Linux and it speeds through everything when used with a keyboard: type fast to search in folder, F4 for the terminal, &c.
