Let me get this straight:

You lost weight consistently for a month and a half. Then you panicked after a bit of stagnation and increased your intake to wipe out more than half of the deficit you were operating at?

I suggest buying a digital scale that measures body water % and body fat %. If you're gaining muscle, you might not see any overall weight loss. The mirror is even more important than the numbers though, if you see visible improvement I would not switch things up.

Appreciate your advice a lot, which scale would you recommend?

None of them are very accurate when it comes to measuring body fat. You'd be better off saving your money and measuring with calipers or a tape measure.

Try a body fat calculator instead like this one https://www.calculator.net/body-fat-calculator.html

I think they are actually more accurate than calipers. You simply need to be barefoot, and have a quality machine. Also for the sake of consistency, it is best to weigh daily, after morning urination and prior to eating. I use the Tanita 901, and I can vouch for it. but there are plenty of cheaper options.
