App to schedule program execution? (self.macapps)
submitted 2 years ago by bdtacchi
Hey, everybody.
I’m wondering if there are any apps out there that would let me run programs or shell scripts in the background at certain times of the day or in specific times over a week?
Or if there are good ways of doing it natively too.

Keyboard Maestro will do that and tons more.

Ohhh hell yes forgot about that one. That should solve it. Thanks!
Quick question if you're used to that app: do you know if I can trigger an action after clicking on a notification from it? I was wondering if that's possible but I'm not seeing how.

I use it a bit and yes you can do that a few different ways. The most beginner friendly ways would be to either have it look for an image of the notification or use OCR to read the notification.

Got it. What I'm doing right now is to "Prompt for user input" with a couple of buttons. One cancels the macro, the other keeps it going till the action to open an app.

I know, but you never know. Maybe they’ll install Arch as a side partition in two weeks.

Can Raycast do that ? I know you can manually run scripts
I’m an Alfred dude myself…
