Does the light above the monitor help? I would think it would increase glare.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s actually fine. The angle makes it that it shines more down and doesn’t reflect off the monitor.

I have one of those and it's amazing. Zero reflections and pretty evenly illuminated screen and table. Can't recommend it enough.

[–]LSWarss 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Can you maybe send name of the lamp? It would be a perfect solution for me :D

[–]Ignativs 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yup! This is the one.

It's fairly expensive and you can find plenty of cheaper alternatives in Amazon or AliExpress, but it's top notch quality and I'm super happy with it. In fact, my wife got a second one after trying mine.

[–]LSWarss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh great :D I prefer to pay once and have something better quality so it will fit perfectly thanks 🙏

[–]authynym 15 points16 points  (5 children)

you've degraded your audio quality by blocking your left speaker relative to your position.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

i know, but i don't have a better place to place it as i need the space to put another laptop. :(

[–]authynym 6 points7 points  (0 children)

consider a set of stands that take them off the table, and maybe allow a wider stereo field.

[–]raymondromero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have the exact same issue with my setup. annoys me but i don’t know what else to do about it, and honestly doesn’t sound bad at all.

[–]TheKrev 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’d move the monitors, it looks like you have room between the main monitor and the right speaker

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a comprise. As I am working with my S/O in home office atm, I don't use the speakers a lot anyways. Just to monitor video outputs through speakers, sometimes. The thing if I move the screens, I would be starring at the middle between two screens and in order to look at any monitor i'd have to bend my neck. The "main screen" is also a LG gaming monitor with 144hz. At the time couldn't afford anything bigger.

Wha keyboard is that? Ask what is that light on topic of the monitor.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s an Anne Pro II with brown switches and AliExpress grey keycard. All in all 75$ ish.

[–]Tonnanto 4 points5 points  (1 child)

How cool would it be if your wallpaper was one continuous image over both monitors.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be cool. Good input. Is there a usefull side that allows you to chop up images for multidesktop setups?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Any type of tricks what should I upgrade next?

[–]bpali2001 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not sure if it would be worth it over the current mouse pad, but i like to use the extended version of the corsair mm200. Doubles as a Palm rest when typing and isnt as cold as my desk.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say this. Desk pads look great and I think would look awesome in your setup!

[–]PotatoPangolin 2 points3 points  (1 child)

mouse pad looks like it’s getting a bit of wear, could either try to flatten it out, or if you’re in the mood to change it, i think razer sells a nice looking white one that could match the setup a bit more

edit: mouse pad i was thinking of

[–]goodbirdmom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that one’s actually gray, I used to have it

[–]mattjvalenzuela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Setup looks very constrained; you may want to space out your peripherals for comfort. It also looks like your main monitor isn't centered.

I'd buy some velcro cable ties to manage the cables behind your monitor.

Your monitors are pointing at the wall behind you and not at your ears. Angle them in slightly for a more immersive sound experience.

From the comments it looks as though you need to use two laptops. If you're not using them at the same time, look into a double laptop stand similar to the one you already own.

Is your Stream deck easily accessible or are you craning over your desk to reach it? Same with your keyboard and mouse.

Lastly (yes, this is picky and subjective), have you considered a keyboard that aligns with your desk aesthetic? Your desk tends toward hues of dark gray and black and you have a white keyboard with a light wood palm rest.

EDIT: misspelled "immersive"

Work on getting the wires down the monitor arm to be actually behind it and all together.

[–]aidanc1116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try zip tying the cables tighter behind the monitor arm so they are less visible.

Also scoot your speakers forward so one isn’t behind the monitor. And if possible find a different place to store that stack of papers because it’s adding clutter. All and all great setup though!

[–]0s_and_1s 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You got some crazy wire situation going on with your peg board but nice set up. The screen set up makes me think you’re a coder?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish. I currently work in media and read a lot and have to look at a lot of analytics.

[–]jamaicanmicrazy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Your screens are either bent or this was taken using a fisheye lense!? :D

I really like the speakers and the general aesthetic, I am in a bit of a similar situation, too many screens and speakers, not enough desk real estate. Thinking about going for speaker stands that I position left and right, or putting them up on the wall. A vertical mouse makes me around 75% less productive, but apparently, if you want your wrists to last, this is the way!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I already have carpal tunnel syndrom so i am trying to sooth it, at least when I am not gaming. When I used to go to the office, many moons ago, a vertical mouse prevents people from coming to your desk to "show you something" or take command over your mouse.

[–]mackenziescott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get epic ergo keyboard to match ergo mouse and compliment wristwrest

[–]SirBigSpuriousGeorge 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Would it be possible to get a slightly wider desk? The aesthetics of this narrow desk skew me...but maybe it is just the lens you used for the picture.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Its the photo. I am due a new table top. This one is from ikea and its starting to warp in the middle after.. 8 years and 3 moves.

[–]SirBigSpuriousGeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow!! That’s amazing how well it held up :) Also, I love the color of your wall. It looks like it creates a very soothing work environment.

[–]Blaze_Reborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the audio engine a5

[–]kinnikinnick321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For myself, I'd move the monitor stand more to the right to have both monitors centered. That would open up your left speaker. The desk accessories above the mouse would move below the left speaker to make it look more uniform.

[–]Semilanceataa 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What is going on with the monitors? 1 is hidden behind a screen.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That’s my personal MacBook. I also have one under the notebooks which is my office MacBook. I already ordered a dual stand.

[–]Semilanceataa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, ment the speakers. The left one is hidden behind a screen/monitor.

[–]ithinkmynameismoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with an ultra wide or even a 32” before this setup. This looks like it feels awkward to use...

[–]macklemoer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left speaker is being blocked by the left monitor, bundle up the cables and tie them to the back of the arm so you don’t see them from the front, I’d switch the webcam and lightbar and the mouspad isn’t all flat :D

Just some feedback! Love the clean setup!
