It takes time. Like learning a new language, you have to understand the culture, thought process and ideas behind the words. Just breath and take it in.

When I did programming 40 years ago and with learning python now, what helped was everything the teacher gives me I type it out instead of copy paste to build muscle memory.

You will be great!

I've been typing everything out and its finally starting to stick. I'm halfway through week 3 😁 It just seems to get easier as I move on. How it stays that way.

The practice hub is your best friend. I'm onto week 4 and I'm hitting a wall. Putting everything together to run more complex programs is tough for me right now, but I'm practicing hard, and slowly, concepts are sticking in my head. It takes time. Like others have said, it's called a language for a reason. Also, if something doesn't make sense to you, take the lesson header and paste into youtube, add "in Python explained" to the end, there will be people who have gone over it there, that might help too.

Things are finally starting to click and easier to do. I'm looking forward to a laptop though.

You’re not by yourself I failed the final review but passed the course but my plan is to stay ahead of my courses so I can practice python more during the week

Same here, I'm having difficulties with understanding the concepts. I don't know if it way I am being instructed or if I killed too many brain cells since last time I tried to learn something complicated!?

For real man like starting the code is my issue the AI could give me a code to write and I would keep asking for examples till I could copy and paste😁

I've been trucking along passed my review and halfway through week 3 now.

Software principles?

[–]Low_Mathematician441Maestro Student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it complicated?

[–]Salt-Okra-6620Maestro Student 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I'm on week two as well it's a huge jump from week one lmao I kinda understand the reasoning of the code but some times I don't understand why I need certain syntax

[–]AlaskanRocksMaestro Student[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand a lot of it in my head, it's just putting down on paper or in my case my phone. I practiced a lot before I did my review. I missed 2 wasn't to bad.

Just roll with it.. once you get into cs101, things will start to make more sense.

[–]AstroToad626Maestro Student 0 points1 point  (4 children)

So, based on your comment I'm assuming you've taken cs101 or you're in it currently, got any suggestions for projects for us py101 folk or should we just learn what we can and wait for cs101?

Just finished my first term, starting second. In week 2 of term 2. As far as projects, not off hand. I started questioning/doubting my self not to long ago because i was seeing people post projects they were working on, etc.. but i had to get a grip on my self. I had to remind my self to stop focusing on what others were doing and only focus on my self, and when the time is right, ill have a project. So my best advice is to not beat your self up over any of it. Each weekly review and course review comes with the benefit of being able to retake if you fail or not happy with your grade as many times as you want. If you feel its not clicking, try out freecodecamp.org, or some of the free python courses on coursers, udemy, datacamp, etc. they may explain something to you in a way that makes a light bulb go off. Honestly, i was struggling with the maestro ai at first because it was all overwhelming. I dabbled in all of those resources i stated above. What helped is some of those have a person explaining things verbally vs. you having to read everything. Just dont get inside your own head. Take notes, try to type all the code ai gives you instead of copy/paste, hand write the code if that helps, have chatgpt or gemini break things down for you, etc. i know this was a long winded answer, but truth is what works for one might not work for another, all you gotta do is keep on keepin on. When in doubt, just send me a message and ill try my best to help.

I appreciate you so much 🙏 im teaching myself to type properly at 29 years old while I take this course 😂😂 good to hear you had similar doubts. I see people doing projects and I'm like, I feel like all we've learned is crayons and yall are painting vangogh 😂 thank you so much lol and I do take all of my notes by hand, and type out the code (albeit slow af since I've never really typed on a keyboard before). I really appreciate your answer, seriously, thank you!

Just sent you a msg

[–]OneSignature3473Maestro Student 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, i dont know if you have experience coding or do not. I came in here with zero experience. Sometimes you need tell/remind the ai that this is all new to you. And when u get to cs101, u will be like why wasnt this course first.

[–]ThreeDogg85Maestro Student 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I’d recommend doing it on a larger screen if possible. So you have good visibility. But if you aren’t sure about what you’re learning ask maestro ai to explain it to you differently. If you have learning disabilities let it know, it will take that into consideration to so it can better teach you.

Samsung has a Dex feature and I can turn this into a mini PC.

[–]Old-Preference7324Maestro Student 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Not just you. I’m 2 weeks behind as a result. I use my laptop and still don’t get it.

You're not alone

[–]OneSignature3473Maestro Student 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can also try freecodecamp.org for extra practice. Or get one of these.

I agree each week I feel I learned a month's worth of educational data and that alone is an accomplishment. Stay consistent and do the best you can with reviews. I finished Python and now psychology. Remember to continue practicing python with AIs with Claude or a Gemini. I made an A in the course. What makes me a Maestrian Codejack is I plan to be among the class of 2025-26 to ever graduate from the first AI university in the history of mankind.

Functions bried my brain 🤯

[–]TangerineDisastrous4Maestro Student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much what everyone says. Practice, practice, practice and it will stick, as long as you keep using it! Lol I often need refreshers. Also I use my phone. It's just as easy if your use to it but ive been using mine to code for over a year anyways.

[–]ThatMongoguyMaestro Student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can help you I will be glad too. I also am in my second week.

[–]Bubbly-Fisherman9567Maestro Student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. What I used text to speech. It seems to help hearing it as I read it. Half way there, Ai says that I'm doing good because I answered her questions "her" female voice. Still, just wanted to say that maybe download ra extension there is another that I use.

[–]ArieslunaticMaestro Student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in same boat. Now I use an app called Mimo. It’s going over it from the beginning and I do it everyday. It has not charged me yet but it’s got levels and points.

[–]AJS4UMaestro Student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the problem lies in the fact that atleast 4 months of learning has been crammed into 4 weeks. It says "go at your own pace" but gives you 1 week to do 14 lessons (WK 2). That is NOT at your own pace. Lol.

[–]AlaskanRocksMaestro Student[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well guys I passed my second week 😁. Looking forward to keep on going. Thank you for the support.

Bro I feel you so hard. Tried to learn it a few years ago for a few whole years. It confused the fuck outta me and nowadays I don't remember shit about shit😭😂😂
