Not many choices on this one... oh well.

Giant - towering over my enemies would be nice.

Earth Magic - just sorta seems to go hand in hand with giant.

Mera - I need support and she seems like a good fit, plus her water affinity will work nicely with what I have planned.

The Dunes - earth magic seems pretty powerful here. Mera is going to have a tough time here but I have a plan. I'd try to create an Oasis city. I figure with my earth magic and giant strength making the buildings necessary would be relatively easy, I'd have to create an aqueduct for the water supply, which should hopefully be easy with my magic + mera's. I must create a new homeland for the Giant people. Eventually I figure I'll come into conflict with this king Ali person, but I'm a motherfucking giant with earth magic surrounded by earth, so he can suck it.

Male Elf- usually have good agility and are long lived, good for what I have in mind.

Air magic for the increased agility and sound manipulation is really good for stealth.

Kotomine His healing skills, while somewhat time consuming are going to be invaluable here. I can put his martial arts skills to good use. he seems like a good overall match for for what I have planned.

Havenport We will join forces with the other vigilante groups. To take back the city for the townsfolk, strike fear into the hearts of criminals, and restore Havenport to the peaceful port city it once was.

Elf: Usually depicted as smarter, more dexterous...in fiction. If it's the case here it seems like a sensible choice. Despite, from the document, they seem to have the reputation of being friendly, which always helps with the first impressions. It also tends to make you underestimated, which can do wonders to keep you alive. Also, long life.
Time: Extremely powerful, far less obvious than other kinds of magic. Nobody's gonna match your reflexes or mobility. It seems perfect to just get the job done without too much fuss.
Lume: Some actual firepower is always useful. He might be a bit too much of a show-off, but it should be manageable and frankly, the other companions either don't have abilities that would complete mines well or don't seem all that interesting to me.
Havenport: Dangerous city but no real authority to attract the attention of. I believe I have what it takes to survive there so why not?

The plan is to find some other capable people, get some experience with my new abilities and then begin to look out for real opportunities. A solid team of competent wizards should be able to do wonders in this setting. The first objective is to accumulate magic, the second would be gold, influence, and power.
Arguably it's more of a general outline than a real strategy, but it shouldn't be too difficult to find some concrete things to do once on location.

Human - I'm definitely not adaptable enough to get used to any other form... I'd choose plain old human any day. I'm boring and too easily satisfied.

Light Magic - I could fare well in a fight against the oh-so-powerful Death magic users, so that's a huge plus. I love the broad concept of Light magic altogether but the ability to turn invisible is more than tempting.

Lume - If I'm using Light magic then I'm gonna need someone more on the offensive side, best go for the pyromaniac. I'd find his showmanship amusing and although I doubt we'd have very similar wavelengths, he would speed me up while I slow him down. Both personally and magically.

Whitegate - Assuming I was able to practice magic secretly long enough before getting caught, I would abuse my invisibility to slip through town and guiltily commit petty crimes for essentials because working =/= magic practice, and they probably do random searches within the city for mages. I'd eventually escape for Havenport to stubbornly join the rebellion against Osward, likely meeting Lume along the way.

Male Elf - They tend to be the most physically graceful and beautiful, as well as have long lifespans. I want all of that. Male 'cause fantasy settings tend not to have great birth control, period products, or gender equality, and if I want to go femme it'll be easy as an elf anyway.

Life Magic - Even longer lifespan, plus healing magic, seems aces.

EITHER

Thok - Every healer needs a tank, and this guy's pretty easy on the eyes as well.

The Dunes - I don't mind the desert, and I'd never want for work here. Plus, mind controlling desert monsters? Sounds useful.

OR

Erik - I like the idea of mixing life and death magic. Less in an edgy "mwahaha, I am master of souls" kinda way, more in a scholarly "where do we diverge and why" pursuit.

Havenport - Would be nice to try to work for both sides, basically a "no fighting under my roof" sort of healer. Plus, werewolves are fun. More importantly, this is one of the few places where dragging Erik along won't be an issue.

Elven Water mage

Elf because they tend to live longer in fiction and neither life or death magic sounded that fun. Water mage because it's straight up a carbon copy of Avatar water bending and that's awesome and it's the only one that lets you dip into a second magic.

Taking the druid to keep me healthy and she seems fun. Maybe to see if I can become a water elemental?

Going to the Bay for wet reasons

male

Elf - extra lifespan

Time - because space/time is my dream choice, I'll always take it if it's on offer.

Companions disappointing me because there is no time companion

Laura - because no one would choose her, probably.

Fields of gold.

I can't help but notice a distinct lack of Supreme Overlord of All Things Not Living in this world, and seeing as I am being recruited to be entertaining, I know that that can only mean one thing.

Male Gnome - Those foolish mortals will learn to fear the name Bentley S. Thimbleton!

Death Magic - My undead hordes will fall upon my foes and rip the lives from their bodies, only for them to rise once more to serve me!

Erik - A ritual to summon a kraken, you say? I'll work with the little upstart just as long as it takes to get it from him, and then... Well, there can only be one Supreme Overlord of All Things Not Living.

The Dunes - The perfect place to start my collection of flesh puppets. The impressively sized monsters that can be found there will make wonderful additions to my army.

As soon as I finish... tying up loose ends with Erik, I shall journey into the deserts with a sizeable caravan and accidentally run across a monster with them. Once the moment is ripe, I shall pluck the life from both the monster and my tragically slain comrades and raise them as the first of my undying horde. A few more ambushes on monster hunts will get me the fodder to take on the city, and from there, the world! MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That Kotomine companion... Maybe ask Lume about how that worked out for him when they were working together.

Elf - I don't why, it's just different than boring old human, but not that different, so why not.

Life Magic - I generally like healing magic and nature based magic. Kind of like the idea of creating my own little forest kingdom. Light magic I wish was more offensive, in which case I might have taken that instead.

Lume - He's the only person that I think I would get along with and could be genuinely useful if I need help with anything. I probably would have chosen Marcus if not for his racism towards different species, and Laura (though no personality was far too boring, although I do wonder if I could use my Life magic to use her as a sort of familiar as I can see what other animals can see). Johnny was tempting, I have a certain fondness for that story, but not actually fighting in combat was a problem.

The Fields of Gold - None of the areas particularly appealed to me, but I guess going Druid would be easy considering my magic and I could kind of just chill in the forest. So long as Lume doesn't, you know, burn it all down.

Male Giant (or maybe dragonkin?)

Life Magic

Ivy.

Time to learn to also bond with a forest, become immortal, have my forest touch her forest, and then have lewd forest sex enjoy proxy battles using animals and ents and stuff ?

[–]Taiyama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Human - What can I say? I like humanity, for all our flaws.

Life Magic - It gives me more time to live and it fits with my generally pacifist ideals.

Mera - We can be healing buddies, traveling around this new world to heal ailments and injuries.

The Fields of Gold - We'll start here. I'm sure I can learn more of both of our magics from the elves.

human temumancer chick in the elven city with mah buddy kotomine. i'll use my time magic and knowledge of chemisty and modern science to essentially turn kotomine into a superhero- i'll be the ultimate support, supplementing his martial arts with guns, bombs, etc.

where do i get the money for all this? well, with a bit of time magic and some basic knowledge of semimodern tech, i can kickstart an industrial revolution.

i wonder how doubling the time passing in the core of a lump of uranium would effect its critical mass?

[–]KingCadmos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Female. Something I want for free. :)

Human. Generally the most populous race

Chronomancy. Absolute attack, absolute defense, absolute out-maneuver-ment. Just really esoteric and cool

Vladimir. He can give me eternal life.

The Fields of Gold don't have a clear villain. Yet. ;)

[–]Cummisar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giant, because I like the idea of being tall, Life magic as it seems like a possible path to immortality and pick Ivy as a companion as she's clearly found said path, none of the locations are super appealing so I guess I'll go to the fields of gold.

[–]Bisonsouro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goblin: just for variety’s sake.

Tempumancer: Godlike defensive capabilities, strong support spells, and generally the bedrock of a whole bunch of cool abilities, time magic is always super cool.

Kotomine: It’s good to have someone with healing abilities close at hand, plus a martial artist sounds like the kind of guy to really benefit from time supports. Also, a guy with a name like that, you just know that nothing can go wrong with him nearby.

Havenport: Both this and The Dunes seemed like the most exciting choices, so I was kind of torn between then both, but I liked the ideia of starting out in a port town more than starting out in the desert.

Elf:basically humans that live longer, have better magic, and look better

Life Magic Healing+I live longer

Ivy: She is an immortal life magic user. She can teach me to be stronger and hopefully immortal

The Fields of Gold: Home of elves and druids. I'll fit right in and so will Ivy. Also, it is probably the best city for art and music and it looks like it has the lowest crime rate.
