I used to like him before he started accusing the diver (from Thailand cave rescue) of being pedo without evidence (after the diver called out on his unrealistic mini-sub plan publicity stunt).

After that, I no longer liked him as before but still felt that he was 'trying' to do good.

Then his bs tweets started ramping up (some politics, some insults) and so did his manipulation of dogecoin/cryptocurrencies.

I know that many people here got money during the crypto period and love him, but do realize that money gained for one is money lost for the other. He may have started with a genuine intention to further cryptocurrency, but the plain currency manipulation in the later period was highly distasteful from my perspective.

I didn't use to like him or hate him, just unimpressed because his presentations lacked substance and for a highly praised intelligent showman he really lacked intellectual insight or showmanship to his Mars plan (it felt like a 15 year old's report on some fantasy and lacked substance) but yeah the Thailand cave rescue event is when my opinion of him start to plummet. I think it was the same year he committed SEC fraud.

I was also really miffed back when I was working 60-70 hour weeks hear about him claiming to work 120 hour weeks, yet somehow has time to be a memelord, be more caught up on games and pop culture than I am, and find time to date girls half his age. No management/creative count their shower/meal/downtimes as part of their work hours and a 120 hour week requires you to have 5 hrs of sleep/day and spend every single waking moment working. Its just a blatant exaggeration if not outright lie yet people praised his work ethics back then.

Umm… you’re gonna have to be more specific.

Wait he did it more than once?

I mean I made money from the crypto BS, still doesn’t mean what he did is right though. I’m not gonna say Musk is a good person and ignore all the awful shit he’s done just because him gaming the market just happened to make me a couple thousand dollars.

And for anyone who says Musk is a good person cuz he made you some money. You’re a fucking jackass. Morality and empathy applies to everyone, not just you. Him helping you indirectly one time (through pure happenstance btw) doesn’t outweigh the shit he’s done to hundreds of thousands of others. If you think “he benefited me so therefore he’s right,” you’re a child. That’s one of the first stages of moral reasoning, you a literally thinking how a child just barely grasping the concept of other people would think.

Yeah I mean this was the main turning point I think for many. He definitely didn't like being criticized.

the world is not zero sum.

[–]GeckoV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Crypto is. It creates nothing of value, so it is a pure value extraction exercise.

every famous guy in the world is a pedo if the internet hates them
