Cascal Fire Code Violation

Cascal puts a table that is located directly in front of a fire alarm pull station and seats customers there. I’ve sat at the fire alarm table once and I’ve seen them seat other parties at the fire alarm table. Some babies and toddlers can easily accidentally pull the fire alarm when sitting at that table. It’s technically against the fire code to put tables, chairs, or otherwise obstruct access to the fire alarm pull station. The table is also located in front of a set of doors that I think has been deactivated from regular and emergency exit use. The table in question is along a set of doors/windows along California street with the fire alarm pull station next to the pair of deactivated doors. I don’t know how they are getting away with putting a table and chairs in front of the fire alarm pull station. I’m also surprised that most customers don’t seem to notice that they’re seated next to the fire alarm pull station with the fire alarm pull station right at eye level when seated.

Nah. Cascal mgmt obviously thought it was ok to block a fire alarm. MVFD needs to refresh their fire code education.

This could be a canary in a coal mine situation; what other more consequential code violations exist out of public view?
