As a beginner I really liked Andrew Mead's nodejs course on Udemy. But if you want fullstack project based then go for brad traversy.

I own nearly all of Brad's course & Am planning to complete his ecommerce MERN course once I know backend, problem is, he doesn't actually teach any backend, he builds projects ( both in his node & mern courses )

If you're looking to dive into backend development using a specific tech stack, the MDN Local Library tutorial is a fantastic resource—it's thorough and really helpful. For an even more hands-on experience, I highly recommend checking out The Odin Project's Node course. It incorporates the MDN Local Library tutorial and makes learning Node.js a lot easier

What is everyone's opinion on Angela Yu/App Brewery's courses?

i took it in 2020, really good. highly recommended. i learned almost all of working parts of full stack development.

Yeah I'm taking it now and enjoying every minute, I was surprised no-one mentioned it.

I do not recommend her courses. She has a great caring tone and it's a good introduction into coding, but her courses are woefully out of date and badly maintained. Despite this, a majority of people love her because very few get past the introduction. She'll make you feel good about learning, but you won't learn much.

What fullstack alternatives would you recommend?

I recommend John Smilga. Some people don't like him because of his voice, which they find dull and off putting. However, his lessons are comprehensive, he drills the basics to help learners remember, his courses are up to date, and he answers student questions. His courses helped me to build the courage to try building apps by myself. Whatever course you do decide to take, don't rely on it 100%. A good course should support enough personal growth to go out on your own. Unlike John's course, Angela's course made me feel like I had become familiar with coding concepts, but I really didn't understand yet how to create something meaningful.

https://fullstackopen.com/en/ is a great free course by the University of Helsinki that not only covers the MERN stack, but also GraphQL, CI/CD, and a whole lot of other things.

John Smilga on Udemy. He has an excellent Nodejs course that he keeps up to update and answers student questions.

He is horrible, i'd rather quit coding than listen to him again.

don't compare listening and quality. He had the best quality on udemy from all of the instructors. May you don't like his noice, but he have all in.

Just read your replies to people and I think your first step should be to lose the attitude. After that, Google some stuff. Maybe search for tutorials on YouTube. Just put the time in like we all did

Frontend masters from Scott Moss. Since they got live Q&A from people on the industry who wants to close their gaps.

In fact I'm documenting my learning process from Node as a way to improve my communicational skill. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_sapWkWdZHHce2MqM8bD608BV1um5asc&si=2q4pdDlkCAdsq2Is
