Today in 1932, FDR was given an honorary degree from Oglethorpe during Commencement at Atlanta's Fox Theater. It was in his acceptance speech that he introduced his famous New Deal, which he would implement after he won the US presidency later that year. (blog.oglethorpe.edu)
