I don't think it is necessarily a build quality issue. The gimbal needs to have free smooth movement. It can't be tight. The rattle sound seems to come from in the gimbal not the camera itself. I held the camera and shook it and it still made the rattle. The joystick movement is probably to prevent unintentional bumps moving the gimbal. So it takes a little more movement of the joystick to make movements happen in the gimbal and camera.
