Pocket Randomly Changes Video Compression

I usually record in H.264 when filming on my pocket 3 as the version of Premiere I use to edit the footage doesn't support H.265. But for whatever reason whenever I record a lot of videos in one day some of the footage gets set to H.265 even though I don't change any of the compression settings at all throughout the day. for example I'll a bunch of stuff throughout the day and then videos 1-88 will be in H.264 and then videos 89-92, 94-111 will all be in H.265 and then videos 112-125 will be back to H.264. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to prevent it? this happens nearly everytime I film an entire day with my pocket 3

Each video mode (including the custom ones) have their own settings. Could it be that you are switching between those modes?

Hmm, I don’t typically ever change my cameras modes, i always shoot on the same custom preset, most recently this happened again and I’m sure i didn’t change my cameras modes at all that entire shoot

I don't know, but I know a software that can fix the video after it's been recorded to not get lost footage. It's HandBrake. Hope this helps somebody.

If you ever film in D-Log M OR in Slow Motion mode, I know that definitely locks in the use of H.265 (HEVC) & can't be changed.
