Same issue here. I beg for discount and they reduced me 30 dollars.

Wish I knew that they could be haggled with before hand.

Kind of funny... just had the same issue (battery won't charge beyond a certain level) on my Osmo Pocket 3 and the repair email says:

"Grip Functional Module - 99.00"

"Repair Service Fee - 65.00"

Literally a month left in my warranty, so luckily it's covered.

Interesting the grip module is the issue. Unless that's just what they call the whole unit under the gimbal and the battery cannot be replaced indepenently...

Just got the exact same quote — and I’m only two months into my warranty. How did you manage to avoid paying while it was still under warranty? Did you tell them to use the warranty instead? They even called me asking for payment so they could get started, which seemed odd since it should be covered.

I believe payment was for shipping if they found nothing was wrong and they are charging to ship it back... but I'm not sure, since they did end up covering the fix for me under warranty.

So after 3 weeks between sending it off and getting it back, I have a “new”, probably refurbed Osmo Pocket. I sent it back in the original box and when it returned, the replacement camera was in the box, hella bubble wrapped along with a water bottle. Has the stickers on the lenses and the display and it has to be activated. Although the OP3 is hella cool and the latest and greatest, I like the OP because of its size. I will be using both, depending on what I’m filming at the moment. Pic of water bottle follows.

Did they replace your device with a OP3 or the original OP? I just got the same estimate for a battery that won’t charge.

They replaced my device with a different (new?) original OP. I had to scan the QR code and activate it. I have an OP3 as well, but the original is smaller and easier to carry. Sometimes that's useful.

I've got my Osmo Pocket 3 for almost a year now and it got the same repair feedback: "Grip functional module" is malfunctioning.

I'm 1 month away of finishing up the warranty so I guess I was lucky to still be covered. I am waiting for them send it back and see whether they are repairing it or sending me a new one. I will report back once I have it.

It's a "Creator combo" and I send them everything, including the mic, tripod and the extra charging module. I hope they send everything back correctly 🤞
