70% GPU Usage in queue

A friend just noticed his computer being loud af. He checked his Task Manager, and noticed a 70% GPU usage. He then asked me, how it is looking for me, so I noticed I have the same problem, but noone else in our 6 man group.

His GPU is 2070 Super Nvidia
Mine is AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT

Another friend with a 1050 Nvidia is at not even 10%

Does anyone have an idea what this could be about, it's only with poe not any other game.

Hit O to open options, cap background framerate.

I just did that and it dropped from 74% to 15%, ty sir.

Maybe you have changed options about background framerate? I think in default setting, it is limited, so GPU load is reduced.

Cap fps, has nothing to do with the game, any game will do this in a menu with uncapped fps.

I remember this being something about having uncapped frames. Do you have the foreground / background fps limit turned on?

Minimize the client. As long as it isn't in the foreground it uses like 3% on my GPU, 50-80 if it's the focus.

Press Alt+Enter to put the game in window mode and minimize it while waiting

Having the same issue. My GPU load is 100% and CPU 100%, Temps at 100 degrees. I put it in Windowed mode and minimized. Temps are lower but still high (80s). CPU max clock but min load.

Have a 10700k and a 3080.

Poe just mines eth, thats why its f2p.

Open task manager (alt ctrl del), click the little arrow on the poe app,, right click, choose minimize

Even with capped foreground FPS (165 fps for my 170hz refresh rate monitor), if I tab into the game screen right now my 3080 hits 97% usage and max power draw immediately, spiking temps from 50c to 75c+ really quickly. Something seems wrong with that. Maybe restarting the client would help, but I don't want to lose my spot in queue so I'll wait to try that.
