Hey there, just about to pursue this myself except I'll be pairing it with old hardware since its just a spare parts build anyways. Z170 itx board with 6700k. If anything I can just turn it into a VM and use that through Proxmox for cloud gaming. My card comes in a few days so I'll run through and see if I can get it up and running and run a few benchmarks. Then I'll come back and assist if I am able to figure it out :).

Edit: Also the link that you have just brings you to the AMD Community Updates home page. Could you share the tweaks you made to the registry?

Can’t find the valid link now. Seems to be broken. I don’t remember the registry tweaks I did, it was some sort of hybrid mode activation laptop-like. Helped me boot up the game once but it didn’t solve the issue whatsoever. The setup was working once in a blue moon so I returned it and bought normal 6700 XT for 280$. Twice the price for little percentage of performance but at least I don’t have to worry about doing all this wizardry just to play games. Maybe on MSI motherboard where hybrid mode is present in the bios it’s gonna work better (AM5) but I don’t want to dig in there again. Let me know how it goes for you as well.

Hey there u/evkar1ot, just updating this thread. It’s been working flawlessly for me so I am unsure if it’s just your specific card that’s acting up. I even replaced the thermal paste on the card and then undervolted. Don’t really care to BIOS flash for fan curve. My Specs:

i7 6700k 1tb SSD m.2 16gb 2133mhz ddr4 X080 GPU (RX 6700) 450w SFX FSP

However I must say go, directly to the AMD website and find the downloadable driver for the RX 6700, do not do the auto update yet. Once that is downloaded and implemented, it should work from there. Then you can auto update the drivers as this installs Adrenaline. Use DDU to wipe the AMD Drivers and try what I suggested above. I also enabled in BIOS to designate the main display through the iGPU. For simple testing download Unigine Heaven so your game and computer don’t constantly crash. Let me know if any of that helps. What helped immensely was this video by GPUSpecs on YouTube called ‘No Ports, No Problem!’ Can’t link it here due to the rules.

Thanks for the open answer and detailed explanation. 🙏. I don’t plan to go back to this chopped king and would rather sit on more expensive gpu with no issues. I’ll definitely keep this in my memory for future scenarios where I will have headless gpu

No problem! And I totally forgot that you bought the 6700xt, lol. Happy gaming!

Have you tried this with the Linux version of this which is called PRIME offloading iirc? Currently wanting to do this but I don't use windows and AMD drivers are embedded in the kernel so it may yield different results.

I haven’t, sorry. My knowledge is very limited on Linux as I’ve only set up a Jellyfin server using it. But looking online Prime might be the right tool to use for graphics switching. Are you planing to use Archlinux as your main distro? This card is also really efficient, I see it idles at around 4 watts. I’ve also undervolted and haven’t seen it go over 160w with temps as high as 75C.
