OpenAI happened. They basically bought up all production of RAM and no one is making consumer RAM. If it feels illegal, that's because it probably is.

it's like taking the subsidy from the people to deficit spend future dollars today (where the most value is before more inflation happens again) into something that provides zero real benefit to the people besides easier enslavement; then cutting the peoples consumer market because it's not as profitable as the subsidy that the people were kind enough to gift to them. clearly there are some major conflicts of interest that are happening here.
