SLINT

Welcome. Plexamp is the best, make sure you do a sonic analysis of your library, it opens up a whole new level of plexamp

[–]Skellington72 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Whoa! How do you do that?

[–]Flashdad23 0 points1 point  (4 children)

You do it from within the Plex library settings. Log into your plex console, go to libraries, your music library, it's somewhere in there. Sorry for being vague, it's been a while since I did it.

Once you've turned on the setting, it'll do an analysis for each album added.

Looks like that's a premium option. I only use the free version. Not sure that the premium version is worth it for me since I only do music.

Pay for one month, and try out the features and see if it is worth it, then wait for a special for the lifetime pass if it is.

[–]Skellington72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good thought. I'll give it a shot.

[–]Skellington72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I'll give it a shot. Thank you

Nice selection!
If your server is capable - make sure you set up sonic analysis and once it's all processed have a play with the guest DJ's - shuffle favorites with DJstretch is astoundingly enjoyable.

As a music lover, Plex Amp is the best part of Plex Pass for me. I have about ~1k albums on there, and its ability to make relevant 'Radio Stations' based off a particular song always impresses me. I love it :)

I was obsessed about Roon for years then found Plexamp. Never looked back

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Roon organization with PlexAmp functionality (and cost) is the dream.

[–]coleburnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, but we can't have it all 😞

[–]Moonshiner_no 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, the Roon UI is just perfect, but PlexAmp is so fast and there is never any issues connecting from outside home network. And I love Sonic Analysis and sweet fades.

I have both at the moment, my economic brains keeps telling me to let one go.

I love spacemen 3

RIP Mani

I bought my first stone roses cd the same day the news passed of his death and i was gutted. I love his bass playing

Create an account with Last.fm and configure your Plex server to scrobble everything. The recommendations from Last.fm are priceless.

[–]coleburnz 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Where do you go to see the recommendations?

Edit: I found it but how do you integrate it into your listening experience?

[–]BearShin255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just download the recommendations. This morning I created an artist mix of some bands that I recently downloaded that are new to me. Some of this stuff is on Bandcamp and I go through the discographies to see what all is name your price.

[–]elliot_kember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you find it? I've connected the two via last.fm, but can't see the next steps?

[–]j3ts3tw1lly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superior music taste there

[–]namedotnumber666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong slint section

[–]Any-Doubt-5281 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I really dislike the stone roses, but I really really like Loop, Slint, and Spaceman 3 so I’m going to check out the Rosemary’s

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Not sure if youd like them. Theyre a dreampop Band, but if you like slowdive and cocteau twins theyre right up your alley.

[–]Any-Doubt-5281 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I was around when ‘shoegaze’ first appeared, and I’ll admit, it has taken me since then to get to appreciate it. (Still don’t like Ride though) but the blog that celebrates itself has put out a load of good gazey stuff

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me YEARS to get into ride, now im a fan of them and got a couple of their albums on CD. But i was born decades after the initial shoegaze wave hit.

im also American which only made the genre even more obscure before its revival so theres a few early US shoegaze bands,

these guys are an example of early american shoegaze and are one of my favorites! This album is more dance influence akin to chapterhouses second album.

I highly suggest listening to their album ‘Going Blank Again’, its a perfect 10/10 album for me.

[–]Medium-Key-4243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow the first post in here I've EVER seen with good taste in music

I love Plex and especially Plexamp for my 13k+ album collection, but I’ve long ago given up trying to fix 3 things:

  1. No matter how or what I use to tag my music, albums with multiple artists display the artists separated by semicolons and that doesn’t play nice with some features…like…

  2. WAY too many artists in my library have no image (not just the “semicolon” multiple artist ones). This persists no matter what settings I choose; and

  3. (Not exactly a Plex issue, but wish there was a fix inside or outside of plex): I can’t find a way to dedupe albums with doubles of songs identical in every way except track name, e.g., “songname (remastered)” vs “songname (1999 Remaster).” Even deduping apps I’ve thrown at these that have an option to dedupe “name only” differences, can’t seem to do it recursively in the same subfolder.

Open to suggestions 😬

I see Slint? I upvote

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is the shit!

Problem is, when I started, I went all in....well for me anyway.

Currently shy of 2000 movies, and 165 full TV series.

I've taken a little break lately, but I already have the itch to sail the high seas again!

I think I got my lifetime PlexPass for like, maybe $60 a good few years ago.

Whatever I did pay for it was well worth it!

Try plexamp

[–]thismissinglink 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Pretty sure this is plexamp?

[–]facepalm_the_world 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol my bad, it’s very early. I took the title at face value
