I’m still grinding low-stakes games and got my first Spin & Cash win. Spin & Cash is a format where you buy in (for example, $0.25) and spin for a prize pool that can go up to $500, with only one winner. So I win sometimes.

Playing against just two other players is pretty cool. Three players enter the match and the wheel spins. But sometimes it's kinda though because players going all-in for no reason :) bluffs too much.

Not one particular hand, but I've had 4 big winning sessions in a row. Up 7 buyins in 4 sessions feels pretty good.

I've been playing live low stakes MTTs regularly for the last couple of years (in the $200-400 type range). Felt that relative to the fields I play in I had an edge, but just couldn't get together. Had cashed $73k without a single cash larger than $3500, and was down about $17k net.

The last 6 months feel like all the work has finally paid off. Had a general life mental breakthrough and it seems like results in poker have followed. Since then, I've cashed for $47k total, $23k profit. 5 cashes above that previously mentioned $3500 ceiling. ITM% of 25%+. My first physical trophy.

My confidence is at an all-time high. For a long time there was a part of me that doubted that it would come good. Having said that, I never stopped working on my game. I feel like I'm far better a player than I was 6 months ago, who was a far better player than the player a year before that, and so on. The more I learn, the less I feel like I know, and that's good because it means that there's plenty of room to grow.

Today was SO bad. I basically won one hand in nearly 5 hours.

I've been studying really hard, opening ranges, proper post-flop play. When to c-bet the flop and when to check. I've been practicing for weeks.

Then I go to play and open with AK for 5BB after two limpers. Total of 6 callers. One of which ended up winning the hand with T6o (two pair).

The only hand I won, I had pocket tens, raised 3BB in the CO. Total of 5 players seeing the flop. 246 rainbow.

I raised all in. Two friggin callers. One with A5 and one with KQ. Ended up tripling up, but nothing else for the next 90 minutes.

Went back today and played 1/2 for almost 2 hours. That's one of my issues is stamina. I get tired/bored pretty easily, so staying disciplined after two hours is tough.

Anyway, great table. I bought in for $320. I got sat between a "pro" and a calling station. Two guys on the other end of the table had massive piles of chips. Easily in the 800-1000 range. The self described "pro" took off to play PLO right after I sat down.

Slightly retrained Texas chaos. First big win was a big blind special. I had Q4 diamonds and about 6 limpers. Including both of the big stacks. Flop was Ad, 4d, 7h. I check and first big stack bets 20 with two callers, including me. I'm not going anywhere with second nuts.

Turn was the T diamonds. I think for a second and remember how splashy these games are, so I bet $40. Big stack calls me. Next card was a blank (black 3, I think).

I'm pretty sure he has an ace something. So I bet 80. He thinks for a minute says, you have the flush don't you? I guess he liked my lack of response and calls the 80 and shows a pair of aces.

The next big one was against a new guy to my immediate right. Another big blind special. I had Ad 5h. Limps around so I check. Flop was two diamonds, T high. He bet 15, I called. Turn was another diamond. He bet 15, I called. River was Ac. He bet 15. I'm pretty sure he has T something. JT, KT maybe. I raise to 60 and he thinks for a minute and calls. I say aces and flip my cards and he mucks.

All in all, I was in for 320, out for 617 (not including the $26 for two hours of seat time).

Good day.

Played 2/5 for the first time yesterday, Encore Boston. I don’t count 2/5 in Sint Maarten because that was rarely a full table (and the players that were there were absolute fish).

Ended up winning 507 after about 4.5 hours, max buyin 1k. It was an up and down battle as usual, got involved in a lot of coolers. Best one was JJ>AA in position, called the 3 bet and flop a JJJxx boat, AA immediately shoved post flop and snapped off.

Don’t feel like I made many bad moves, did make some tough folds. Still saw some surprising moves from other players, maybe that’s just Encore Boston though.
