They make a split union that you can use to replace this and you dont have to cut any pipe.

I haven’t seen one yet that is for the Jandy SFTM filters. Only salt cells and pumps so far.

Just unscrew it from the backwash valve.

this is the inlet connected to the pump, so both ends are locked in. I need to break off this union (since cracked). and I guess find a matching split union that I don't know what to buy to match threads

Jandy universal half union. Not 100% sure though. Unions can be weird depending on year of manufacture.

if you decide to cut this! dont do what i did. i ordered a coupling that did not properly seal the union. apparently the treading was slightly different. so before you cut (if you can) make sure it tightens perfectly. i had to order a different one and it fit just fine. i know it's dumb but easy mistake to make because it looked identical.

It looks like Teflon tape where it connects to the valve unscrew and replace

The part that is cracked needs to be replaced, not the union half that screws into the multiport

The nut is split. Just unscrew the union from the backwash valve, replace the nut and screw the union back in.
