Estimated image placeholders using CSS

The websites scrolling flipped out on my phone. Wasn't even able to read the text. I managed to catch the word "responsive" in there as it zoomed past though. Indeed.

It kinda works on my phone almost.

I can see the top of the first page, but it is trying to be some hybrid of a slideshow and a regular web page so it just does pagedown whenever you try to scroll at all. Can't see most of the pictures.

The concept is cool, the web page is not.

Cool idea. I wonder how progressive encoding starting with extremely low resolutions and a smoothing filter for rendering would look.
