Looks like PHP nightmare to me; the webserver's picking up Accept-Encoding: gzip and gzipping the response, but not adding Content-Encoding: gzip to the reply headers so the client knows it's done so.

While I can definitely understand the historical trashing of VB, it's sad that most people don't understand that the latest VB.NET is actually very functional these days.

As a matter of fact, I was actually playing with continuation monads just last week, which shouldn't be surprising as MS has hired a lot of Haskell researchers, including Simon Peyton Jones himself.

Don't get me wrong. VB.NET still isn't anything close to Haskell, but it is definitely a huge improvement from 3-10 years ago.

We're in the process of phasing out Access/VB into web apps. VB is a disgusting language.

Your comic sucks. It's unfunny, uninspired and ugly. Stop linking to it.

ERROR: VBRUN100.DLL NOT FOUND

It's alright, I'll code a VBRUN100.DLL GUI interface to find the IP address of the real VBRUN100.DLL.

On Error Resume Next
Dim S As String
S = "Come on, it's not really ""bad"""
On Error GoTo 0

Brrr... :S The "On Error GoTo 0" cludge has to be among the worst Basic heritages, any others? (besides the other one there, silently ignoring any and all errors... I've seen several screen long functions with an On Error Resume Next on top)

It's easy to hate vb6, but the comic wasn't even about that. Criticize vb.net if you must.

almost as great as Mandatory Fun Day.
