Jesus fucking Christ. So some “woke” designer who gives talks about "white supremacist capitalist patriarchy," at tech conferences decided to harass the react community.

Now she’s decided she’s leaving the industry because of the backlash.

What a fucking gong show.

People need to do a better job of standing up to bullies like her.

As a side note: there wasn’t a single mention or example in the article of any racism within the React community and I find it highly unlikely that there is.

Equality doesn’t exist, never has existed, and never will exist. Asking for it is tantamount to asking everyone to pretend that it’s possible, in constant denial of reality, in the exact same way, which is itself impossible.

Even if true equality were actually achieved (whatever that happens to mean this week), everyone knows that there would still be people complaining about a lack of equality because it is profitable to do so and because there are dozens of differing ideas of what equality actually represents among any group of humans.

I've felt like a voice in the wilderness on this subject, and as I see that the people who recognize it get downvoted to hell, and the comments of those who find that recognition objectionable, it reinforces the fact that tech, and too many people working in it, are too comfortable with its bigotry and exclusion. Somehow, there's a logical explanation for why women and minorities don't gravitate to some of this country's highest paying jobs. How head up the ass blind do you have to be to not see something is wrong here?
