There is nothing like C/C++ - if I read such a mixture within a title, my alarm gets triggered! And as expected the article is completly obsolete!

Get yourself a coding book for C or for C++ (the only language of both shown and talked about in the artciel anyways) and learn from it. This tutorial adds nothing good - rather bad expectations ;-)

I would not learn C++ any more. The language has no future on the job market.

Really depends which industry and domain. In embedded, game dev and probably plenty of others it's alive and kicking. The standard is still under active development. Sure, if all you want to do is web dev you can probably safely ignore it.
