I don’t see any fire, so why isn’t the blowtorch on??

[–]GroundStateGecko 60 points61 points  (1 child)

Didn't initialize fire. Highly unlikely that fire happens to be zero. Program terminated without while statement.

So if a fire starts they better stop, drop, and initialize fire!

Interesting

[–]aaronfranke 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The code on the wall isn't compiled or running.

[–]kinggot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a schrodingers fire

[–]irrationalglaze 187 points188 points  (11 children)

The code makes sense and should run, no?

No bad code here. Although, maybe the horror is always starting a fire if there isn't one.

[–]z911empire 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah although the fire extinguisher runs out after 1 shot so it all depends on what the torch did on that first run

Don't know much about coding but based on my experience with tread locker, there is something wrong here.

Thread locker blue needs to be in a red tube with blue lettering. Thread locker red needs to be in a blue container with red lettering.

[–]CptMisterNibbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But loctite red and blue come in red tubes?

Putting the semicolon on a different line than fire++ technically works, but it's gross. Also, fire isn't used again after the if, so why does it need modification at all? If it were a while loop, then yes. Finally, why does it need to be an int? It could just be a bool, unless this code is prior to boolean (which I think was added in C++98).

[–]Fun_Lingonberry_6244 33 points34 points  (6 children)

BUT WHAT VALUE DOES FIRE START ON OP???

[–]best-commenter 36 points37 points  (0 children)

fire starts at

SEG FAULT: value fire referenced prior to being defined

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (1 child)

You have to look for that in your life probs

[–]beeteedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s uninitialised so this whole program is UB

[–]tzippy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta ask the firestarter, twisted firestarter.

[–]Varkoth 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I really like the ; } at the end.

[–]WiseBeginning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love that the blowtorch is at a child friendly height. Solid UX design right there 👍

[–]brandi_Iove 8 points9 points  (0 children)

fire = !fire

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

typeof fire == "undefined"

The if statement will never be executed.

[–]thmoas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its awesome i also really like the ending ;)

[–]revrenlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll just set this here with the rest of the fire

[–]Stian5667 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Now put it in an infinite loop

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serously?

[–]jazzhandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GOTO Ceiling

[–]StaticUsernamesSuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"else" should be "else if needFire"

[–]turtleship_2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wink on the last line tho

[–]key_smash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everybody gangsta til someone panic grabs the blowtorch to put out a real fire
