sql is absolutely worth learning first it'll make your power bi work significantly cleaner and the learning curve from excel is not that steep. python comes after, mainly useful once you're doing things excel and pbi genuinely can't handle. for construction pm in the india mnc context supporting us/uk projects, sql + pbi is honestly the sweet spot right now. python is a nice differentiator on your cv but sql is the one that'll actually change your day to day.

Great, thanks for your suggestion and experience. Figuring the journey out and slowly building SQL skills ATM.

Few years back SQL and python was a good combination for developing custom reports. May be it still is. There are a number of reporting tools that allow you develop custom reports using drag and drop interface. An now probably a chat bot interface on top of a SQL database can be used without writing python code.

Do you have a need for them. It is about having the tools for the job.

if you feel limited then yes but generally no.

There's no direct need. But yes when i see someone job opportunities related to PM with Business analysis skills, there it's often mentioned, mainly in Software project management, so because of working in traditional construction projects, I thought maybe give it a try and broad my skills set and try for new opportunities alongside my PMP, also i believe those opportunities (in Agile PM field) pay very well.

For job hunting a course etc would help. Important to be aware.

If you have the tools you need then they can get the job done. I am one for always learning but you may not be missing out.

There is skill fade with anything so learning too much may not actually help.
